About Shamrock Pottery

Hi, I am Lisa-Marie Oliphant, the face (and fun loving force) of Shamrock Pottery.  For as long as I can remember, I have always loved pottery and dreamed of making my own someday but I didn't take the time to explore that passion until taking my first class at Pine Tree Potters Guild in 2017. The best part of this experience was walking into the class and reconnecting with someone from high school, who was the teacher.

LIFE LEADS YOU TO YOUR PEOPLE if you follow your heart and I was connected to one of the best (Linda Szoldatits, look her up).   From there I took a number of classes and took my first wheel class from the fabulous Teresa Dunlop (look her up too).  All of these classes were in the evenings after long days at work and prior to 2017 I would have said, I’m too tired, I cannot make it all work, blah blah blah … YES, I was tired at times but that was okay because I was LIVING.  It was AMAZING to be connected and inspired so, I took to it like a fish takes to water and I have never looked back.  To DREAM is to be BOUNDLESS and I have been on a journey of inspiration, connection and learning, making my dream come true, ever since I started to give this time to myself.   We often hear that a creative person must have an outlet, and that is true.  However, I think ALL PEOPLE can cultivate their creative side if they allow themselves to just try that thing they’ve always wanted to try but never had the time.  When we do, it will feed our souls people!  This is why I make pottery and why I am inspired to teach others at the pace that works for them.

I chose the name "Shamrock Pottery" as a nod to my Irish heritage and to instill a little whimsy to those who bring my pieces into their lives.  My home studio is where the magic happens, it is my little haven with beautiful sunlight, lots of space to work and music always filling the room.  My kiln has been given a name, as all kilns should.  Hers is "Brigid", after the Irish Goddess of Fire (and a great many other things), and this too is a part of the fun for me.  In this space, all of my creations are made with love and intention, and I believe you'll feel that pass on to you, when you enjoy them.

I have found such peace and happiness in making pottery, so it is a pleasure to create and share my love of pottery with you.   I'm looking forward to meeting you through my work or my classes.
